You may not realize this but you are part of a minority group. The chances are that you are reading this book because you've asked your parish priest about having your baby baptized. A hundred years ago, seven out of every ten babies born were baptized, but now this figure has reduced to just one in four, which suggests that the majority of parents don't think that Baptism is very important. You're obviously different, so as you carry on reading we'll help you see how important it really is and to understand what you are committing yourself to. Don't worry, though . . . it isn't  hard and you'll feel much more confident if you know what is involved. Above all, it's a great opportunity to find out more about God and how much he loves both you, and your child.
