From the author of
A Story, A Hug and a Prayer and Good Night, God Bless,
here is a third family bedtime book. These wonderful stories are
based firmly on Scripture and are more than a simple retelling; they
instead lead us behind the scenes where we encounter the emotions of
the characters, the wonders and difficulties of the world in which
they lived, and the fun that life gave them.
With prayers to say
together after each story, this is a wonderful book for families
growing in God's love.
FOREWORD
I wonder what sort of families and friendships we would have if the
only way we ever communicated was to sit down and have a
conversation. Pretty sterile, I should think!
Relationships are
formed and nurtured in a whole range of ways: play, co-operation,
laughter, or often most powerfully in simple, silent ways unspoilt
by words.
The same, it seems
reasonable to suppose, must go for our relationships with God; hence
the approach of this third 'family bedtime book', firmly in the
tradition of its predecessors. The idea is not to adopt a formal
posture and 'pray' but to spend time together at the end of the day,
to laugh, to wonder, to play, to hug, and simply leave God free to
join in with that and enjoy it.
The first book in
this series was entitled, A Story, A Hug and a Prayer. I
strongly suspect that the part God values most highly is the hug!
