This collection of
Bible thoughts takes a different approach to studying the Bible:
rather than work through a section passage by passage, each chapter
takes you to a new part of the Bible.
So get prepared to
listen to Peter today and then read about Isaiah tomorrow, and don't
be surprised if you hear god speaking to you when you least expect
it!
And when you're
ready for more, 'Reality Bytes Again' in a second collection.
INTRODUCTION
There is no doubt in my mind that things were an awful lot easier
all those years ago when I was a chubby little ten-year-old. Life
was simple, home was stable, school was almost fun, and God was God.
Over the next ten years God became an increasingly big part of my
life; indeed, I would like to think that God has become the meaning
of my life.
I am very aware of
how good and holy that sounds - if only it was that simple! You see,
God has created a wonderful world for us to live, learn and play in,
and the more I see of it, the more people I meet, the more life
expands, the harder I find it to understand and cope with. Life is
an adventure, and there are stories to be written in all of our
lives as we travel the paths that we are on. We are all walking
along life's road, but we all travel at our own pace, with people
going past us, people tripping us up, people helping us through the
rocky parts, and others giving us the occasional lift. We all travel
as best we can in our own way. Reality Bytes, and a second
book, Reality Bytes Again, have been written to help anyone
traveling along those paths honestly and under the guidance of God.
However, they are
not 'One Reading a Day' books, so don't get all guilty if you don't
read a chapter every day! The passages from the Bible have been
arranged to give a little bit of variety. Rather than starting with
the Old Testament and finishing with the New Testament, the order is
a little more mixed, so don't be surprised if one minute you're
listening, and next hearing about good old Isaiah! And as you zoom
around the Bible, take a little time to read around the passage
you're looking at; the Bible is a great book and God will speak to
you through it; so don't be too surprised if you hear him when you
least expect it!
