Two ladies, Cecil Frances ('Fanny')
Alexander and Frances Fidley Havergal, born in the 19th century,
contribute to the sixth recording in our Hymnmakers series. Fanny's
hymns, written mainly for children, will stimulate rich memories for
every listener. Frances Ridley Havergal's hymns clearly
express her sense of belonging wholly to god and will lead us to
re-affirm our own trust in Him.
The St. Michael's Singers, conducted
by Paul Leddington Wright, with David Poulter on the Coventry
Cathedral organ, powerfully assist us in our worship of Him who is
truly worthy of our praise.
